The Plastic Constellations were a Minneapolis-based band. Formed in 1995 when they met as students at Hopkins High School, they played their first shows in 1996 at the well-known First Avenue venue when they were just 15 years old. They are known for their rhythmic intensity, anthemic melodies, and playful sense of humor.
The band consisted of dual guitarist/vocalists Aaron Mader and Jeff Allen, bassist (Jordan Roske), and drummer (Matt Scharenbroich). Often the guitarists would both play rhythm guitar to form a very dense texture of sound.
Aaron Mader is also a hip hop producer, operating in this capacity as a member of the Minneapolis collective Doomtree under the name Lazerbeak.
Their last show was April 19, 2008 at First Ave. before they went on what is being called an "indefinite hiatus."
A reunion show was held at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis on January 23, 2010.
